Kia orana readers, welcome back to my blog ! Today I'll be blogging about the legend of Kupe (which was a explorer who find New Zealand ). WALT: Tell how the people felt when Kupe came back !
It was a magnificent sunny day, all the people were relaxing and chilling in the cool gentle breeze , all the children were laughing and playing sundelly a little girl could noticed a double hulled canoe come its way towards the island. Everyone wanted to find out who was coming toward the island, after awhile they suddenly realized that it was Kupe and his beautiful wife (Hine Te Aparangi). Everyone was so joyful that they kept on running and hugging them both because how they had missed them so much. Kupe decide to tell everyone about his magnificent journey to Aotearoa, he came and showed everyone the big moa bones (which was in fact over 3 meters tall) & the beautiful greenstone, most of the villagers were really impressed because they had never seen a moa over 3 meter tall & a beautiful green jewelry like the Pounamu, the rest of the villagers were didn’t believe in his journey to New Zealand that they wanted to see for themselves. Kupe told everyone such an inspiring story about the land of the long white cloud.
