🍕Technology 🍕

Malo e lelei and welcome back to my blog ! Today I'll be doing a late night blogpost about technology, I'm very sorry for not keeping update with tech but it's because I'm usually never in the mood but today I'll be telling you guys what my class did in tech! So technically since its term 4, I'm finally in food tech (which is Mrs Hamer's group and I love learning about food, mostly because I just like eating and learning). In our class I was never this excited to learn about something but pizza, I was in joy to make pizza because I've never made it before, all I do is basically watch food but I don't learn how to cook it anyways at food tech, I was buddies up with one of my best friends Lily Mapa. Me & Lily were getting straight into cooking after Mrs hamer was telling our class the instructions, while we were dicing vegetables , slicing & making onion rings & getting the mince and rolling it into meatballs, we had to do it really fast like lighting because we didn't have that enough time. After the slicing the vegetables and rolling the mince into meatballs, we had our dough and start grabbing the tomato paste and spreading it all over we both decorated our own pizzas and it looked so delicious that it got me mouth watering already. The pizza got into the oven, Lily & I were cleaning our kitchen and washed the dishes and all that etc. After like about 15 mins waiting our pizza was baked and smelled so delicious that it was pulling me back in time ! Lily & I starting eating our pizza to check if it was cooked then our class finished and Lily & I ran out of the class to the bus like wild animals. In conclusion I really like my pizza and I can't wait to learn more about food tech because I was usually inspired by my dad to get into the cooking vibes and I still am today and I'm so joyful to be in food tech and learn more about Mrs Hamer & more about cooking !

🐢 Evolution of turtles 🐢

Bonjour readers and welcome back to my blog ! Today I'll be blogging about our inquriy and it's about genomics. In my group we've learnt about the evolution of turtles and we have learnt so many interesting things about the specie, it was such a great experience learning about it and I've discovered so many different things, anyways here is Vaiola, Lilym, Courtney, Lino & I's work !

Evolution of sea turtles ( Chelonioidea )

Where did sea turtles evolve from?

Sea turtles originated from South Africa 260 million years ago at the shore of the ancient Karoo sea. Most of these turtles would continue to develop the armour plating ( A hard metal covering ) of their Proganochelys ancestors, streamlining it.

Where do Sea Turtles live?

Sea turtles come from all around the world. Males never leave the ocean, while the females leave the ocean so they lay  their eggs in the sand. They usually come from the cold waters off California. Then they swim out the warm beaches of the Coral triangle. They migrate long distances to feed, often crossing entire oceans.

Do sea turtles live long lives?

It’s difficult to know exactly how sea turtles can live. Their life span is often longer than most research projects. Most marine turtles take decades to grow between 20 and 30 years and remain active for another 100 years. They also have similar life spans as humans. The reason they live is because they grow very slow throughout their life.

Why are sea turtles endangered?

All seven sea turtle species are classified as endangered sea animals and that is mostly due to human activity. It gets accidentally caught in shrimp trawl nets, on longline hooks and in fishing gill-nets. Sea turtles need to reach the surface to breath and many drown once they get caught. They are killed for their eggs, meat, skin and shell.

Fun Facts :

They’re the oceans lawnmower

-   They hold their breath for 5 hours underwater.

-   Temperature dictates the sex of baby turtles.

-     They live to about 100 years.

-     Unlike other turtles , sea turtles can’t pull their heads and limbs    inside their shells.

🥊 Boxing Session Part 3 🥊

Annyeonghaseyo readers and welcome back to my blog ! Today I'll be blogging about Rm9's 3rd session with Pat in Boxing, I'm so excited to share some incredible skills I've learnt in boxing. It was 11:37 and our teacher (Mr Janse) forgot that we had kiwisport, that the whole class had to line up quickly outside and walked quietly down stairs all the way to the hall (which was like a 3min or 2min walk down stairs). Next we got into our gears it took us for ages because everyone felt like a sloth (which was kind of annoying because we wasted about 2mins of Pats time). After that we had to be in buddies with someone that we felt comfortable with but all my friends were buddies while I was lonely, so I had to buddy up with Sunny (which was okay I guess). After buddying up with him, we all had to watch Pat teaching us a new skill called Hook . The skill was exactly like Jab but instead you are twisting your body to your left and then you release and your hands should be across and the punch would be powerful. After that we learnt another skill  called Uppercut which you twist your body just like a hook and you release it for your punch which should be going in a direction of up and that is an uppercut. A while later we had to combine all the skills we learnt today with Jab and cross, it was very hard at first but then I got use to it and that it became fun. Overall I've learnt so much from boxing and I can't wait for our next catch up session on friday, and I can't wait to tell you readers more about what I've learnt!
