🎯 LILY M & LILY U - 5 ways to kill a Man 🎯

Aloha readers and welcome back to my blog! Today Lily M & I have compeleted this poerty task that was about 5 ways to kill a man by Edrick Brock, I've learnt alot and in the first santaza it teaches sus about how Jesus had crufuiced for our sins it was really fun learning and I really enjoyed it, here is our compeleted task with the poem you can read some of our questions and answers.

Five Ways to Kill a Man

There are many cumbersome ways to kill a man:

you can make him carry a plank of wood

to the top of a hill and nail him to it. To do this

properly you require a crowd of people

wearing sandals, a cock that crows, a cloak

to dissect, a sponge, some vinegar and one

man to hammer the nails home.

Or you can take a length of steel

shaped and chased in a traditional way,

and attempt to pierce the metal cage he wears.

But for this you need white horses,

English trees, men with bows and arrows,

at least two flags, a prince and a

castle to hold your banquet in.

Dispensing with nobility, you may, if the wind

allows, blow gas at him. But then you need

a mile of mud sliced through with ditches,

not to mention black boots, bomb craters,

more mud, a plague of rats, a dozen songs

and some round hats made of steel.

In an age of aeroplanes, you may fly

miles above your victim and dispose of him by

pressing one small switch. All you then

require is an ocean to separate you, two

systems of government, a nation’s scientists,

several factories, a psychopath and

land that no one needs for several years.

There are, as I began, cumbersome ways

to kill a man. Simpler, direct, and much more neat

is to see that he is living somewhere in the middle

of the twentieth century, and leave him there.

(Edwin Brock)

What is the event referenced in the first stanza? The first stanza is talking about the crucification of Jesus Christ. The method the soldiers used to totrue him and kill him was used as the word cumbersome. A whole crowd watched him being forced to carry a cross all the way to the hill where he was nailed to the cross and died.

What does the word cumbersome mean?  In the poem it was used as something big and strong that was supposed to totrue and kill Jesus

What historical event is referred to in the second stanza? King Authur’s Journey

What item is ‘the metal cage he wears’? Metal amour

What does the word banquet mean? A formal meal for people to eat as such as a party

What world event does the third stanza talk about? World war 1

What does the phrase ‘dispensing with nobility’ mean? The quality of being a noble character.

What world changing event is mentioned in the fourth stanza? Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagaasaki during WW2.

What does the last stanza mean? Describing troublesome ways in which to kill men. But the simpler and cleaner way would be to let them live in the 1950s, because mankind can destroy themselves.

What ways to kill a man might the poet mean as being ‘simple, direct and much more neat’? Poverty, Inflation, Hunger, Unemployment and malnutrition.

What is Auckland harbour bridge? Auckland harbour bridge is located near the Northern way Motorway. The Bridge is operated by the NZ transport agency.  It is the second-longest road bridge in New Zealand and the longest in the North Island. Ever since the Auckland Harbour  Bridge has been built there are such things as traffic management happening for there was the bridge just in the motorway. In 2006, they decided to build lanes for cars with a limit of having only about 180,000 cars to drive in each lane. In March 2009 they decided to make a barrier machine since everything became more cars driving the harbour bridge.

Maria -

In May 1958 there was a 63-year-old man who came up with a plan to do a Bungy jump off the Harbour Bridge, and his name was A.J. ( Alan John Hackett ). The first jumps were made using a parachute harness, but Alan Hackett created an idea where the harness had to be tied around the ankle. They demonstrated it by actually jumping off the Harbour Bridge. Hackett traveled to Paris on behalf of New Zealand in 1986 and made the world's first public Bungy jump. He became famous after bungee jumping off the Eiffel tower, due to a brief jail sentence for an illegal feat.

💐 Recount Current Events 💐

Kia Ora readers and welcome back to my blog, today I’m going to be writing a recount about my current event article I’ve searched up not so long so here is my story, I hope you guys enjoy it !

What is the new Hollywood movie? Recently it has been confirmed that the movie is called They are Us, it is based on the 2019 tragic incident in Christchurch that happened. The movie is about how New Zealand’s Prime Minister (Jacinda Adren) had been given the message of how to unite together and that tragic moments like this shouldn’t be happening in New Zealand. Jacidina Adren doesn’t want her story to be told because she says that it’s the community’s story and their families.

During the attack a victim’s daughter was saying that the movie shouldn’t be shot because there are many muslims that would be hurtful watching the movie (They are Us) because it’s going to give them bad memories. The reason why they thought it was a good idea to hear their voices but then the movie wouldn’t be shot for there are many tragic reasons. After the interview with the victims daughter the director that was going to shoot the movie at hollywood said that it was too early to start shooting a  film about a terrorist attack that has only been 2 years ever since the attack happened.

In Conclusion, I think that they should not make the movie since it would bring bad memories to the mulsim people to what happened but it’s also good to hear a story that it can help everyone and spread awareness to this world! Awfully it’s best to listen to the community and their opinion because it’s their story not ours!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question of my blog : What do you think about realising the new movie they are us?

Thanks for reading my blog ♥️!
